Privacy
The short version: we collect what you type into the form, keep it 90 days, and publish nothing of it except an anonymised analysis if your problem is picked.
What we collect when you send a problem
- Title, description and context: what you write about the problem. The context is optional.
- Your preference: whether you’d like to build a fix yourself or would be happy for someone else to.
- Name and email: optional. The email is only used to reach you about this problem.
- A record of your consent: which version of these terms you accepted, and when the submission arrived.
Please leave personal details, yours or anyone else’s, out of the description. Whatever you write there is passed on as written.
To limit spam we count submissions per network address using a one-way hash that changes every day. Those counters are deleted after 48 hours. Your address is not stored with your submission.
Why
- To read your problem and decide whether to analyse it.
- To write to you, only if you gave an email and only about your problem.
- To publish an anonymised analysis of the problem, if it’s picked. That analysis is our own text: it does not contain your name, contact details or original wording.
Who gets to see it
- A person reads every submission.
- An anonymised copy (title, description, context, and your build preference; never your name or email) is given to an AI research process that runs outside this website. It works from public web pages only.
- When a problem arrives, an email is sent to the project mailbox. It contains only the submission’s ID, not the text.
- The site and its data are hosted on Cloudflare, which processes requests as part of serving the site.
Third-party requests
These are the only ones this site makes:
- Cloudflare Turnstile (challenges.cloudflare.com): the spam check, loaded only on pages with the form.
- Buttondown (buttondown.com): only if you subscribe. Your browser goes to their page to confirm your address; their privacy policy applies there. If you tick the email box in the problem form, our server passes your address to them instead (see “Newsletter signup”).
Fonts are served from this site. No analytics scripts, no tracking cookies.
How long we keep it
Submissions are deleted automatically 90 days after they arrive. After a deletion, a database backup may still hold the data for up to 7 days. A published analysis stays for as long as it’s published; it doesn’t contain your data.
Asking for deletion
After you send a problem you’re shown a reference ID. To have your submission deleted, write tomira@eisenstein.win with that ID. An ID alone doesn’t let anyone read your submission, so we may ask for something only the author would know before we act. If an analysis was made from your problem, you can ask for it to be corrected or removed in the same message.
Newsletter signup
The subscribe block on the pages of this site sends your email address directly to Buttondown, not through our servers. If you tick “Also keep me posted by email” in the problem form, our server passes that address to Buttondown so it can send you a confirmation email, together with your IP address for their spam check; nothing else about your problem goes with it, and we don’t store your IP address. We don’t keep a separate copy: the address stays with your submission only, for as long as the submission is kept. No emails are sent yet, and you’ll confirm your address first.
